Growing up, we were always told that Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were the model entrepreneurs. But they had an advantage over us — they had the luxury of a garage. Of collaborating, sharing ideas, being in each other's presence, motivating each other, and giving one another a push or pat on the back whenever needed. We, today, are not as lucky. We did not have a garage... or a classroom... or a place to chat over lunch. We could not take a stroll through the park to brainstorm, nor work until the early hours of the morning together. Instead, Safe Solution Tutoring was founded by two high schoolers on FaceTime reminiscing on the days of being able to stand within 6 feet of each other.
Soon, our focus shifted from what could have been to what can be. From making TikToks to making change.
Today, Safe Solution Tutoring is a group of high school honors, AP, and IB students from around the country looking to make a positive impact while stuck at home. Everyone is affected by coronavirus differently, but for students, the one thing constant throughout our lives has been shut down for the first time ever.
We are here to provide support during these trying times. And in the process, save some lives through our direct monetary contributions to the Coronavirus Relief Fund. While many high schoolers are still making TikToks, we are spending our time fighting for a cause we believe in: providing all students access to a personalized education via online tutoring regardless of socioeconomic status.
So, who are we? We are just like all of you. We are ordinary students, who are trying to live ordinary lives, in these unordinary times.
To give students a way to keep up with their distance learning, contribute to coronavirus relief efforts, and most importantly to close our business and get back outside.
A world where distance learning isn't just a poor substitute for the real thing, but instead, where one can effectively learn from home
